DMC Adopts Signiant’s Media Distribution Management Software
System Eliminates Reliance on Physical Media, Reduce Costs and Enable Faster Delivery of Content
BURLINGTON, MA (February 9, 2009) – Signiant, the leading developer of content distribution management solutions, announced today that the Amsterdam-based Digital Media Centre (DMC), one of Europe’s leading broadcast and advanced media facilities, has adopted Signiant’s Content Distribution Management software (CDM) as it moves towards all-digital workflows.
The DMC required a digital media distribution management system in order to eliminate the need for tape delivery, improve workflow with third-party clients and increase operational efficiencies. The company went through a rigorous procurement process involving several competitive systems, and Signiant proved to be the best fit for all of the DMC’s requirements.
The Signiant solution will be used to manage the delivery of broadcast media to the DMC, which provides a full range of broadcast services for channel production, origination and distribution, as well as playout and propagation for third party TV channels. Signiant’s CDM will fit into the quality check processes by automating and streamlining content. It will also be used to control internal workflows following delivery, and to deliver viewing copies to language houses and subtitle creation agencies. Initially it will cover three sites, with the intention of extending it to ten sites as part of a larger project.
“In an increasingly competitive market, the ability to cut costs while simultaneously improving our service is a terrific advantage,” said Jonathan Try, Vice President Technology, DMC. “Signiant’s Content Distribution Management software covers all our requirements. It will eradicate our reliance on tapes and physical media for content delivery, greatly reduce transport costs and enable faster delivery of content.”
David Nortier, Managing Director, Signiant Europe, said, “We are delighted that Signiant’s solution can help the DMC to advance its tapeless capabilities and assist in the acceleration, automation and management of its processes. As the global network of Signiant-enabled companies continues to grow apace, being a Signiant user also provides a competitive advantage when working with third parties.”
